ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø to hold commencement exercises Aug. 12
Gadsden, Ala. – The Summer Commencement Ceremony for ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Cherokee.
Featured speakers are ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø students Donna Coley and Dominque Johnson.
Donna Coley

Coley is a Titusville, Fla., native who attends ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Ayers Campus. At commencement, she will receive an Associate in Applied Science degree in Accounting Technology. She plans to transfer to Jacksonville State University.
During her tenure at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, Coley has been a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, was nominated for the President’s Cup and received the Student of Distinction and Rising Scholar awards. She has a 3.22 GPA, which she has maintained while attending classes and working part time.
Johnson of Attalla enrolled in ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø after graduating from Gadsden City High School. She is completing an Associate in Science degree and plans to attend the police academy.
While at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, she has been a member of Student Support Services and has recently been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Johnson works part time while attending classes full time and has maintained a 3.55 GPA.
Graduates will be presented by Dr. Leslie Worthington, dean of Academic Programs, and Pam Johnson, dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Grants and Special Projects. Dr. Kathy Murphy, president of ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø, will award the degrees. Joe Hulsey, the HVACR instructor at the Ayers Campus, will serve as the commencement grand marshal.
